Candidate Terms of Use
These terms apply in addition to our Terms and Conditions when you use SpellJob as a job seeker – for example, by creating a candidate account, uploading a CV, setting up job alerts or applying for a job.
1. Your account
- Candidate accounts are free. You must be at least 16 to register.
- Your account stores only the information needed to sign you in and your saved and recently viewed jobs. Your CV and profile details are not stored in it (see our CV Processing Notice).
- You can delete your account at any time from Account settings. Deletion is permanent.
2. Information you send us
- Information in your CV, profile and applications must be accurate and your own. Don't misrepresent qualifications, experience or right to work.
- Don't include other people's personal information without permission, or sensitive information that isn't relevant.
- By sending your CV through Upload CV or your profile, you ask SpellJob to consider you for job opportunities and to contact you about them.
3. Applying for jobs
- Most “Apply” buttons take you to a third-party website. Your application there is between you and that organisation, under its terms and privacy policy.
- For SpellJob employer listings that accept applications by email, your application is sent directly to the employer.
- We don't guarantee interviews, offers or responses, and we don't verify every claim in every listing.
- Never pay anyone to apply for a job. Tell us about any listing that asks you to, and report scams to Report Fraud.
4. Job alerts
Alerts are optional and governed by our Job Alerts Policy. You can unsubscribe at any time.
5. Fair use
Use SpellJob for your own job search. Don't scrape the site, use automated tools to submit forms, or use the service for anything prohibited by our Acceptable Use Policy.
6. Help and advice for job seekers
These independent, official services offer free help:
- National Careers Service – careers advice, CV help and skills support.
- Prove your right to work (GOV.UK) – how to share your right-to-work status with an employer.
- Acas and Citizens Advice – free advice on employment rights.
