Employer Terms of Use
These terms apply in addition to our Terms and Conditions when you use SpellJob as an employer or on behalf of an organisation.
1. Employer accounts
- You confirm you are authorised to act for the organisation named in your company profile.
- Employer accounts and standard listings are currently free. Paid services, if introduced, will be agreed separately in writing before they start. SpellJob does not currently take online payments.
2. Job listings
- Every listing must be a genuine, current vacancy that you are recruiting for, with an accurate title, description, location, contract type and, where given, salary.
- Listings must comply with UK law, including the Equality Act 2010 (no discriminatory requirements unless a lawful exception applies), the National Minimum Wage and right-to-work rules, and the advertising rules in the CAP Code.
- If you are an employment agency or business, you must say so and comply with the Employment Agencies Act 1973 and the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003, including the rules on advertising. These are enforced by the Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate.
- You must not charge candidates fees to apply or to be considered.
- Listings run for the period you choose (up to 60 days). You can close a listing at any time.
3. Review and moderation
We review every listing before it goes live and after every edit. We may decline, edit for formatting, or remove listings that break these terms, and may suspend accounts used for misleading, fraudulent or unlawful activity.
4. Applications and candidate data
- Applications are sent either to your own website or to the email address you provide. When you receive an application, you become the controller of that candidate's personal data and must handle it lawfully, including giving candidates your own privacy information and keeping it secure (see the ICO's guidance for employers).
- SpellJob does not keep copies of applications sent to you. Your dashboard shows only how many applications were sent, and when.
- Use candidate data only to recruit for the advertised role or as the candidate agrees.
5. Third-party job feeds
Jobs that SpellJob shows from third-party job sources are separate from your listings. Your employer account cannot edit them, and posting on SpellJob does not publish your job to any third-party feed.
6. Your content
You keep ownership of your listings and company information, and grant SpellJob a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, format and promote them on SpellJob and in job alerts while they are live. You confirm you have the right to grant this licence.
7. Guidance for employers
