Cookie Policy
Cookies are small files placed on your device by websites. This policy explains which cookies and similar technologies SpellJob uses, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR, and the ICO's guidance on cookies.
Essential cookies and storage
These are strictly necessary to provide the service you request, so they don't need your consent. You can block them in your browser, but parts of the site (such as signing in and submitting forms) will stop working.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
spelljob_session | Keeps you signed in, protects forms against cross-site request forgery, and shows one-off messages (for example, “Job saved”). | Until you close your browser; the session also ends after 120 minutes of inactivity |
spelljob.profileDraft (browser local storage) | Only if you tick “Keep a copy of these answers on this device” on your profile form. Holds your profile answers in your own browser so the form is pre-filled next time. It is never sent to us automatically and does not include your CV. | Until you untick the option, use “Remove the copy on this device”, or clear your browser data |
Analytics cookies (optional)
SpellJob does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If we introduce them, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.
Advertising cookies
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Third-party websites
Links to job sources, employers and social networks (for example, “Share on LinkedIn”) take you to other websites, which may set their own cookies under their own policies. Nothing from those sites is loaded on SpellJob pages unless you click the link.
Managing cookies
You can change your analytics choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer. Most browsers also let you view, block and delete cookies – see your browser's help pages: Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Microsoft Edge.
